Terms of use
Last updated: 4 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and the independent developer in North Macedonia who makes FishIn: Fishing Log & Spots ("FishIn", "the app", "we"). By using FishIn you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy policy.
Who can use FishIn
- You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of adulthood where you live, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
- You can't use FishIn if we have removed your account before for breaking these terms.
Your account
- Every install gets an anonymous account. You can sign in with Google to keep your catch log, tackle box and friends when you change phones.
- You are responsible for what happens on your account. Keep your Google account secure.
- Your username, name, photo and bio must not pretend to be someone else, and must follow the community rules below.
Community rules
FishIn lets you share spots and catches, comment, like and add friends. We don't allow objectionable content or abusive users. When you share anything, you must not post or send:
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or hate against people or groups.
- Sexual content, nudity, or anything that sexualises minors.
- Violence or gore, including cruelty to animals beyond normal fishing practice.
- Illegal activity, such as poaching, fishing in closed or protected waters, or selling protected species.
- Spam, scams, advertising, or links to malware.
- Other people's private information, or photos of people who didn't agree to be shown.
- Content you don't have the right to share, such as someone else's photos.
- False information meant to mislead, such as fake catches presented as real or spots that lead people somewhere dangerous.
You can report a post, comment, spot or user, and block users, from inside the app. We review reports and may remove content, limit features or remove accounts that break these rules, with or without warning.
Your content
- What you post stays yours. You give us permission to store it, show it to the people you chose (everyone or your friends), and make the resized copies needed to do that. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies others already saved and short-lived backups.
- You are responsible for what you post and confirm you have the right to share it.
Fishing safely and legally
- You are responsible for following fishing laws where you fish: licences, seasons, size and catch limits, protected species and closed areas.
- Spots shared by other users may be wrong, on private land, closed, or unsafe. A spot on the map is not permission to go there. Respect private property and local rules.
- Water is dangerous. Check conditions yourself, and don't rely on the app for your safety.
Forecasts, weather and AI
Weather, bite forecasts, species information and AI briefs, lure advice and lure scans are estimates for fun and planning. They can be wrong or out of date. Don't use them for decisions about safety, navigation or the law.
FishIn Pro
- FishIn Pro is a subscription sold through Google Play. The price, billing period and any free trial are shown before you buy.
- The subscription renews automatically until you cancel it in Google Play › Payments & subscriptions. If you cancel during a free trial, you are not charged. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Google Play under Google's terms and refund policies.
- AI features have daily limits, shown in the app, to keep the service fair and affordable. We may change Pro features and limits; if a change takes away something important you paid for, you can cancel.
- When Pro ends, photo backup stops and backed-up photos are deleted 90 days later, as described in the Privacy policy.
Using the app fairly
Don't misuse FishIn. That means no copying or collecting data from the app or our servers in bulk, no bots or fake accounts, no getting around Pro or AI limits, no attempts to break into or overload our systems, and no reverse engineering except where the law allows it.
Other services
FishIn uses services from others, such as maps from Google Maps, weather from Open-Meteo, and Google Sign-In, Play Billing and Gemini. Their own terms apply to them, and we aren't responsible for their availability or accuracy.
The map in FishIn is Google Maps: by using it you also agree to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
Ending
- You can stop using FishIn and delete your account at any time in Settings › Account › Delete account. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a Google Play subscription: cancel that in Google Play.
- We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms or puts other users or the service at risk.
- We may change or stop parts of the app. If we shut FishIn down, we will try to give notice in the app first.
No guarantees
FishIn is provided "as is". We work to keep it running and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that information in it (including content from other users) is correct.
Limits on liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for lost data, or for harm caused by following information in the app, other users' content, or trips you take. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for FishIn Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or injury caused by negligence, or takes away rights you have as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app before it applies. Continuing to use FishIn after that means you accept the new terms.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of North Macedonia. If you live in another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws there, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
